New Lesson: Belt Loader: At the Aircraft — Departing

  • Completes the existing Belt Loader modules with realistic departure procedures under live apron conditions.
  • Teaches safe departure procedures for the belt loader after cargo operations are complete.
  • Begins with a complete visual check of the intended driving path to ensure clearance from other GSE, personnel, and aircraft structures.
  • Covers removing wheel chocks and small FOD (Foreign Object Debris) from the belt loader and apron area before departure.
  • Trains the required multi-step departure sequence: short reverse from the aircraft, fully lowering the conveyor belt, then following the correct driving path to exit the ERA safely.
  • Path decision-making: Trainees must choose the correct exit route from the ERA, avoiding paths that would take them under the aircraft wing or into restricted areas.
  • Includes error cases for selecting wrong gear, failing to lower belt sections, driving under wings, hitting wingtip safety cones, and attempting to move when personnel are in the path.

New Module: Towable Stairs: At the Aircraft

Positioning at the Aircraft

  • Teaches the complete approach and positioning procedure for towable stairs at the aircraft passenger door.
  • Starts with selecting the correct parking location outside the Equipment Restraint Area (ERA), ensuring a straight-line approach to the aircraft door.
  • Covers hand-pushing the stairs toward the aircraft using the towbar, maintaining constant visual awareness to prevent contact with the fuselage.
  • Trains initial platform lifting to an approximate height, followed by a precise final approach using the hydraulic cylinder to position the platform only a few centimeters from the aircraft.
  • Requires fine height adjustment to position the platform slightly below the aircraft door sill—the correct height for safe passenger use.
  • Emphasizes the no-touch policy throughout: stairs must never contact the aircraft fuselage at any point during positioning.
  • Ends with securing the unit: locking the platform lift mechanism, fully extending stabilizer jacks, and securing the towbar in its latch.

Operating at the Aircraft

  • Teaches preparation of the positioned stairs for safe passenger boarding and disembarking.
  • Covers opening the belt barrier and safety gate, then precisely extending the right handrail and once the door is opened, extending the left handrail.
  • Trains cabin crew coordination: trainees knock on the aircraft door and signal with thumbs-up to request door opening as well as performing a final thumbs-up confirmation to cabin crew that stairs are ready for use.
  • Critical safety training: If trainees skip the mandatory shake check after extending handrails, an animation shows a passenger grabbing the unsecured handrail—which then opens approximately 20cm, causing the passenger to nearly fall.
  • Emphasizes precision: handrails must be extended carefully using both the front knob and handrail grip, stopping at exactly the right distance to ensure passenger safety without touching the aircraft.

Departing from the Aircraft

  • Teaches the complete departure sequence after passenger boarding is complete.
  • Begins with retracting the left handrail while the aircraft door is still open, including folding out the safety gate and performing the mandatory shake check.
  • Trains cabin crew coordination for door closure: trainees signal with thumbs-up to indicate the door can be safely closed.
  • Guides through the complete departure process: retracting stabilizers, removing towbar from latch, manually pulling the stairs approximately 5 meters back from the aircraft, securing the towbar, and lowering the platform fully.

Exam

  • A 15-question exam (pass: 12/15) that evaluates understanding of all Towable Stairs At the Aircraft procedures.
  • Topics include correct positioning procedures, no-touch policy compliance, precise handrail extension techniques, crew coordination signals, proper securing sequence, and safe departure procedures.

New Recurrent Modules

Syllabus

The Trainer Portal sidebar now includes a link to the Draxon VR Training Syllabus, which provides a detailed overview of all training courses and lessons.

Various Further Improvements

  • Enhanced DDID validation: entries are now validated to prevent incorrect codes that break login and tracking. Passthrough mode activates automatically during entry for easy sticker visibility.
  • Randomized exam questions for all Belt Loader modules
  • Allowing both trigger interaction and grip interaction to work on buttons and switches
  • Updated home menu button interaction: trainees can now activate the wrist button both via raycast and by pressing it at close range
  • Fixed line and word breaks in text modals for several languages
  • Updated the trainee anchoring system to improve positioning accuracy and stability
  • Added context for collection modules by renaming them to start with "Collection:" and introducing a descriptive subline
  • Updated collection "Day on the Ramp" with new lessons
  • Small bug fixes and updates
